Steph Forrester continued her comeback from back problems with 4th place in the Pargue International Triathlon despite bike problems, a crash and chaotic organisation.
No lap numbers were called out by officials on the 8 lap run and half the men's field and two women were disqualified after running one lap short.
Germany's Silke Bergler won in 2h 02m 43s while Forrester clocked 2:03:52 to miss out on third by 18 seconds.
"I was with the pack after the swim," says Forrester, "but I had problems with my back wheel on the cobbles and had to stop. Then the girl I was with went over and I crashed on top of her."
But the Aberdeen woman currently training in Loughborough is happy with her result and progress.
"I just take it one day at a time," she says. "Right now results are secondary. I am definately a lot stronger than I was in Hungary."
She finished 13th in Hungary last month. The best of the British contingent in her first race since last summer.

Triathlon/Duathlon - Allen opens season
COPY
Commonwealth Games triathlete Richard Allen opens his international season at Sunday's UK Powerman Duathlon race at Ashbourne in the Derbyshire Peak District where places at the world powerman and world duathlon championships are on the prize list.
The Anglo scot, more famed for his triathlon successes, won the UK Half Ironman in North Wales two years ago and should be a contender over Sunday's gruelling course which includes 12km and 8km runs separated by a 60km cycle stage.
But he faces strong opposition from world long distance champion Huub Mass from the Netherlands and the formidable former world title holder Benny Van Steelant from Belgium who showed winning form recently in France.
